WELCOME HOME!

It is our privilege to welcome you to Grace Bible Church. Our church family has a great faith history of worshiping, connecting and serving together. Our front doors are open to all who want to come experience God and understand who He can be in our lives. No matter your background, you are accepted.

Come visit us on Sunday or drop by during the week.

WELCOME HOME!

our story

In 1978, several Georgetown families began hosting Bible studies in their homes. As time went by, it became clear God had something more planned.

In 1979, Grace Bible Fellowship Church was formed under the guidance of another local pastor. The first Sunday service was held on January 6, 1980, at the Georgetown airport. Grace became known as the “church in the hangar,” and the pastor occasionally had to pause his message due to the noise of the airplanes.

In 1989, the time had come for the church to relocate. They held their first service at their new home on March 5. The Serenada home served GBC well for many years, but as they were blessed by continuous growth, the church eventually outgrew the limited space.

In 2014, the church moved to its present location on Shell Road. From its humble beginnings in at-home Bible groups to the prayers and verses written on the framing boards of its current location, the story of Grace Bible Church is a story of God’s guidance and faithfulness. That is the story we hope will continue to be told about GBC for years to come.

In July 2023, the Spanish Ministry became part of GBC.

frequently asked questions

Since you are new here, you probably have a question or two. This page will hopefully answer some of your questions.  If your question is not listed here, we invite you to send your questions to questions@gbcgt.org and one of our ministry staff members will be happy to respond to you.

  • WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST VISIT?

You will receive a warm welcome from us as you enter the building, offers to guide you wherever you want to go, and answers to any questions you may have--about the worship service, classes available, the staff, the complimentary coffee bar and more.

In addition, we have a Visitors Welcome Booklet that you may take with you that includes more in-depth information about the church.

After the service, we encourage you to drop by the Welcome Table as you leave so we can answer any additional questions you may have and give you a small welcome gift.

  • Where do I park?

Parking is available at the front and side of the building, including first-time visitor and handicapped parking spots close to the front entrance. We also have wheelchairs available for use.

  • What style of service do you have?

Both services are identical in format and style and include songs of praise and worship, a message from our pastor and occasional video presentations.  Each service ends with an invitation for personal, confidential prayer with a member of our Prayer Team if you choose to do so.

  • DO YOU HAVE A DRESS CODE? WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE WEAR ON SUNDAYS?

You are welcome to come just as you are. Our church family is very diverse in age and background, so at any given time, you may see someone in jeans sitting beside someone wearing a suit. We want you to come knowing that you will be welcomed warmly, just as you are.

  • DO YOU HAVE SUNDAY SCHOOL OR ADULT CLASSES ON SUNDAYS?

Most Sundays, we have at least one or two classes or studies for adults.  You may click here for a list of current classes. One of our greeters will be happy to take you to the class and make introductions.

  • MAY I BRING MY YOUNG CHILDREN TO THE WORSHIP SERVICE?

Absolutely. We want you to be comfortable having your small children sit with you at any time, especially on your first few visits. However, we do offer programs for children and youth during worship services.

  • DO WE CELEBRATE COMMUNION?

Yes! We celebrate communion the first Sunday of each month, with some exceptions on the months with 5 Sundays, when we celebrate at our 5th Sunday Family Services.
